Some great Taiwan blogs in 2010

In the lead up to the 2010 Taiwan blog awards I wanted to note some of my favorite Taiwan blogs. Many of these blogs are listed in the blog directory at Taiwanderful and will be in the running for the blog awards. Also check out Bloggers in Taiwan which features a blog every week and has a very comprehensive blog roll.

Politics

These blogs do a great job interpreting some of the nuances of Taiwan politics.

Photography

Capturing the beauty of Formosa.

Travel

Like the photography blogs above, these blogs also do a wonderful job introducing the beautiful island of Taiwan to the world.

Environment

Highlighting some important environmental issues in Taiwan.

Languages

A look at languages in Taiwan. It’s about much more than Chinese.

Personal and Other

All the blogs that don’t fit into the other categories.

Please don’t be offended if your blog has been left out. Feel free to mention your own blog in the comments or suggest your own favorites. Also don’t forget if you want to be in the running for the 2010 Taiwan blog awards you need to make sure your blog is registered at Taiwanderful before 1 December.

Thanks David. I should say I enjoy your blog; it has some great posts on Taiwan culture, politics and environmentalism. One blog that I enjoy, and that is not on your list, is http://danshuihistory.blogspot.com/. For anyone interested in Taiwan’s history, this is a must-visit.

I’ve been a bit preoccupied. This item reminds me to post more and to follow more. Lots of great stuff going up daily on our Taiwan related blogs.

Thanks David. It’s nice to get together as a community and acknowledge the work that goes into all of our blogs, all of the time. You and Taiwanderful have been instrumental and consistent in that. Here’s to the 3rd Annual Taiwan Blog Awards!

Phillip, thanks for your support for the blog awards. Building community among bloggers and giving exposure to more blogs is a key part of the awards.

Thanks for the mention, David. The photoblog was a new thing for me and I’m delighted to learn visitors have found some some pleasure at the site.

Our Taiwan blog scene is burgeoning, isn’t it? I’ve been busy updating my newsfeed in the past few weeks and never catch up. There are always new discoveries. The quality as well as the quantity of the commentary has been taking an upturn as well. It’s good to see.

For all that, your commentary remains a gem, unique and valuable now as ever before. Here’s wishing you many more years of productive blogging!

Thanks Alton. Going through the results of the soon to be announced Taiwan blog awards it was great to see such a wonderful variety of blogs among the winners. I am also still discovering new blogs too.
