I even managed to get tickets to the not-public days but gave them away this year.

Talking to some sales friends they see less sales in their stores as there really isn't anything new and exciting to drive customers to abandon their current generation of web-surfing machines.

Now, the new iPhone could get me to spend some money. But not if I have to get myself a new contract for it. Interestingly enough Taiwan isn't listed as one of the places Apple will launch it in July.

Last year, I was a buyer for a graphics company at Computex. I tell you, the dancing and craziness was in full swing during the closed sessions.

Was it that way last year, too? I didn't go to the public session, but my girlfriend worked there and said it was basically the same all the way through.

They COULD just be depressed that I didn't show this year. (I got a call on my cell phone about two weeks ago while refilling at a gas station, asking me if I would attend this year!) '

Or, maybe they felt it was too...outlandish or sexy, for the "biggest show ever" with more and more investors and buyers coming in from the outside.
