David on Formosa

U-Theatre (優人神鼓) held a free outdoor concert titled Sound of the Ocean (聽海之心) at Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall last night to celebrate their twentieth anniversary. The concert marked the end of their 50 day, 1,200 kilometre walk around Taiwan. During the walk they performed 30 concerts.

U-Theatre is a Zen drumming group. They featured in the movie The Drummer (戰鼓) which I reviewed last year. The group practices Buddhist meditation and martial arts as an integral part of its training which is also reflected in its performances. U-Theatre train at a mountain top location in Muzha and also hold concerts there every year in December.
