It’s raining again…
Rain associated with Tropical Storm Mitag are currently affecting much of Taiwan. It looks like the storm has turned back out to sea after hitting The Philippines and won't directly hit Taiwan. However, it is still dumping plenty of rain on the island. According to the Taipei Times, Nioudou (牛鬥) in Yilan County received 623mm of rain and rains have continued overnight and today.
The first thumbnail image shows the rainfall in Taiwan on 26 November 2007. The next thumbnail image shows the rainfall in Taiwan up to 16:00 hours on 27 November 2007.
The two photos above and at the top of the post compare the Xindian River at Bitan on 22 November and today (27 November). You can click on any of the photos to see a larger size version at flickr.
The photo above shows that the water level is still far below its peak during Typhoon Krosa in October 2007.

I’ve noticed the rain. It really has been non-stop.
I wonder how that place got to be named 牛鬥. Cowfight? There’s gotta be a story behind that.
