Clear day, brown haze

The weather today and yesterday in Taipei has been wonderfully warm with clear blue skies. The photo above was taken at 8:44 am this morning in Tucheng. It is the view looking north toward the mouth of the Danshui River which is in the centre of the shot. Despite the clear blue skies a pall of brown haze has already settled over the city. Often it is not easy to appreciate the pollution in Taipei until you get outside the city and notice how much cleaner the air is there.
